Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), it is with great pleasure that I present the region’s key ICT event of the year, the ASOCIO Summit 2011.

Held in the beautiful Indonesian province of Yogyakarta, the ASOCIO Summit 2011 is hosted by our esteemed member organization, the Indonesia Information Technology Federation (FTII). The summit will garner significant participation from regional ICT players for 2 days of healthy knowledge and cultural exchanges.

As befitting this year’s theme - “Enhancing the ICT Capabilities of Small Medium Businesses and Socio Communities Towards Digital Convergence” - the summit focuses on the development of the valuable SME and socio-community segments through the means of ICT to accelerate growth and innovation.

As a visitor to the summit, you will be able to exchange ideas and explore business opportunities through networking sessions, as well as explore the latest technology and processes in a full-scale exhibition. All of this is a culmination of our members’ ICT development efforts throughout the year. You can also look forward to engaging discussions on topics ranging from SME development and cloud computing to social networking, outsourcing and the role of women in ICT.

While economic headwinds may blow strong in the near future, I firmly believe that ASOCIO – as a unified organization that represents 22 member economies, 10,000 ICT companies and USD300 billion in revenue – will continue to drive the advancement of society, industry and economy through the application of ICT.

Let us be, Ministry of Information and Communication Republic Indonesia, Chairman of ASOCIO, Chairmain of FTII and the Committee Summit 2011 the first to officially welcome you to attend the 2011 ASOCIO ICT Summit. We are looking forward to seeing you in Yogyakarta soon.
